Alumni Awards 2020

The 2020 edition saw two alumni receive medals: writer Marcello Fois and mathematician Gigliola Staffilani, who were awarded by Rector Francesco Ubertini remotely, due to the pandemic

Interview with Marcello Fois - Francis Petrarch Medal | Zambé 2020

During the second edition, the two winners awarded by Rector Francesco Ubertini were: 

  • Marcello Fois, writer, author of Picta, with which he won the Italo Calvino Prize, and of the recent Pietro e Paolo - Francis Petrarch Medal for the category Arts and Humanities; 
  • Gigliola Staffilani, Professor of Mathematics at MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, and recently appointed as one of the advisers to US President Joe Biden - Guglielmo Marconi Medal in the Engineering and Technology category. The award winner expressed her gratitude for the medal by sending a message broadcast at the end of Rector Francesco Ubertini's interview at Zambé 2020.
